This is even more remarkable when you consider that the city is not even 40 years old. Yet, the high concentration of creative and innovative thinkers makes perfect sense when you consider how the city was designed.

It was the first of its kind—an entire master planned city, closely integrated with the University of California Irvine. The city was inspired by a vision of businessmen and academics working closely together for mutual benefit. A commitment to making that vision a reality has grown Irvine into a hot bed for design, innovation and cutting-edge research.

The partnership between business and higher learning has helped to cultivate a highly creative and sophisticated workforce. It is this workforce that powers some of the most successful and technologically advanced companies in the world.

While these clusters vary widely in terms of their industry and contributions, they do all have one thing in common—they chose to call Irvine home.
