Out of the 30+ cities in Orange County, Irvine has the highest ratio of residents that both live and work in the same city. The city's master planners had a specific vision for the balance of work and play; that vision has been carried out throughout the city's nearly 40 years.

Orange County Workforce Investment Board

In Partnership with the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the OCWIB oversees Orange County's workforce development activities and establishes programs in response to the workforce needs of Orange County.The OCWIB designs and implements programs and services for business, adults, youth and dislocated workers in accordance with its 5-year Strategic Local Plan and modifications.  This system operates through One-Stop Career Centers, and satellite centers, conveniently located throughout the County. Each Center offers wealth of training, information and assistance for businesses and job seekers. 

Irvine Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber, in conjunction with the City, works aggressively towards Irvine’s economic development, promoting Irvine as the city of choice. The lead agency working with the City on economic development, the Chamber has established a plan that promotes Irvine as a prime business and residential location. The ICC is a non-profit business organization (501C6) that represents the business community and provides benefits and services to the membership.

The DAC team is equipped to answer questions regarding planning and zoning regulations.

Building Permits

All permit applications may be submitted at the Permit Processing counter. To further assist the public, we offer a self-service submittal system. Plans and permit applications can be logged in and dropped off at the self-serve bin provided all of the forms and submittals are completed. The City of Irvine welcomes new business enterprises, and values the many businesses that have made Irvine their home. The City of Irvine requires all organizations operating within the City to have a business license (Code of Ordinances Section 2-10-201).

Facility and Picnic Rentals

The City of Irvine's park buildings, picnic shelters and senior centers are available for rent. Most rentals requires a minimum of 30 days advance notice. Call to book your event today!

The Child Care Coordination Office provides a variety of services designed to enhance and maintain the quality of childcare in the community. City staff works with individuals, agencies and businesses to help provide quality services for children.

FOR Families provides information and short-term support to individuals, couples and families living or working in Irvine who need assistance identifying and accessing needed services and resources. Our focus is on supporting the well being of our community members.

Irvine Animal Care Center

Our five-acre facility houses more than 3,000 homeless animals every year. Our pets live in roomy kennels with plenty of beds, blankets and toys, and each of them also enjoys daily playtime in our enclosed yards and exercise rooms. Over 90% of the animals that arrive at our shelter are either returned safely to their owners, or adopted into new, loving homes.

TRIPS

Transportation to destinations within Orange County (wheelchair accessible vans and buses) for Irvine residents with disabilities and older adults. Available to Irvine residents with permanent disabilities and senior citizens over 65 years of age. Enrollment for eligible use is required. Waiting list for those certified as eligible.
