UC Irvine Extension provides continuing education through the University of California, Irvine. Classes are offered in multiple formats (on campus and online) to enable working adults to advance their education and careers. At present, there are 65 different Professional Certificate and Specialized Study programs available in a variety of subjects including Engineering, Life Sciences and Sustainability Studies.
The Orange County Workforce Investment Board (OCWIB) works with the Orange County Board of Supervisors to support local workforce development through programs and activities tailored to the workforce needs of Orange County. OCWIB also provides extensive workforce reports and reports by business cluster.
The Orange County Small Business Development Center specializes in assisting entrepreneurs and employers through a variety of affordable training seminars and courses, which provide practical information for small businesses. Local business consultants and topic experts teach the seminars; there are also additional online training courses for employers to further their professional development.
The Orange County One-Stop Center (OCOSC) provides programs to support those looking for jobs, which include comprehensive employment and training services, networking opportunities, and job search workshops. Additional programs exist to aid youth, older workers, people with disabilities, and Veterans.
The Orange County Business Council works to further pro-business interests that enhance Orange County’s economic development in what is America’s fifth-largest county. The Council has identified four core initiatives: infrastructure, Workforce Development, Workforce Housing, and Economic Development.
